Film was taken in Reichstag's Dome - one of the main sights of Berlin and a place where shooting (photos and video) is officially allowed. I have invited Frau Grunewald to visit this place. She is widely known in Berlin, due to her strange appearance and because she constantly works in the underground where she sells to passengers her self publishing texts and asks for the donation. I asked her to rise under a dome, a symbol of German democracy and to explain, what she thinks about the power. After 2 minutes and 50 seconds we were stopped by the security guards which has demanded to quit shooting and have forced us to leave a building.

During a regular Police check last June Police in Tbilisi seized a taxi which was transporting radioactive sources Cesium and Strontium. The owner of the vehicle said, he knew nothing about the contents of the freight, a stranger had asked him to deliver it to the Central Railway Station. The BBC reported that the boxes contained three curies of cesium and 12 microcuries of strontium. Even a tiny fraction of a curie of strontium, if inhaled or ingested, can cause cancer. In May of this year the Department for Emergency Situations discovered three containers of radioactive cesium-137 in an abandoned factory in the suburbs of Tbilisi, These are examples of the so-called orphaned sources: radioactive materials that are lying around everywhere in Georgia. Examples have been found in forests and rivers, and in the city. Some of these materials were left behind by the Soviet army after the collapse of the Soviet Union, some found their way to Georgia via illegal trading.

We Interrupt This Empire

Whispered Media
What happens when a trigger-happy cowboy with a pocket full of loot aims his guns on an oil-rich, people-poor nation? The San Francisco Bay Area Video Activist Network presents the story you won't see on Fox News: an eye-popping, jaw-dropping look at the Bay Area's radical resistance to an illegal war. "We Interrupt This Empire..." is a collaborative work by many of the Bay Area's independent video activists which documents the direct actions that shut down the financial district of San Francisco in the weeks following the United States' invasion of Iraq. With the audio backdrop including live broadcasts of Enemy Combatant Radio from the SF Independent Media, the documentary takes a look at the diverse show of resistance from the streets of San Francisco as well as providing a critique of the corporate media coverage of the war and exploring such issues as the Military Industrial Complex, attack on civil liberties, and the United States' current imperialist drive.
